March 2015 - Congratulations Jake - KS4 Challenge Shield Winner!

Todays KS4 Match for the Lifelines Shield was a site to behold as one contestant simply blew the rest of the field and the water apart! Records tumbled for Jake who's early arrival and careful watching of the water before the match really payed off. Fishing the 4 metre whip Jake landed over 70lb of fish in just 2 hours including 5 carp to 14lb, a Perch at 2lb all backed up with Tench and Roach, a truly awesome...

March 2015 - Tea Break Poacher Strikes Again!

Busy morning with KS4 Students this morning. Another new face came to join us, so welcome aboard Jake. End of term is creeping up so not much time on the rods, as we worked with all the students to complete their assessments for Level 1 CAST. Whilst new to the group, Jake is already a keen angler so he will soon be through the Level 1 programme and as a whole the group can move to Level 2.

March 2015 - Fishing in the sun again!

FInally a rain free day on the rods! Nice to have a bit of sun on our faces although the temperatures were still quite fresh. For our new KS4 students Jordon and Max, we started off in the classroom making up rigs for the whip rods and for KS3 we looked into rod licences, fishing seasons and bankside safety. It was great to get out of the classroom and feel the sun on our faces for a...

These boys have all the makings of excellent anglers, looking forward to the end of term...

February 2015 - Tench in the ice!

More tough conditions for our KS4 & KS3 students this week as the winter really starts to take hold. After classroom sessions on waggler fishing for KS4 and constructing pole rigs for KS3, both sets were out onto the lake to face the bitter temperatures and sleet. Fishing areas were very limited, but we were able to find a few swims where the ice had not yet reached the bank. Hats off to them all, bites were obviously...

January 2015 - Its cold, its sleeting....still fishing!

Our morning session with KS4 Students was really productive today, started off with shotting patterns and hook tying refreshers before we hit the bank. Good day for the boys with the tench still feeding, Callum also banked two carp to 19lb. Come the afternoon and it was time to work with our KS3 students who after a two week trial we are delighted will be continuing their course. The wheather was rapidly closing in and we were soon fishing...
