May 2015 - Supermarket Fishing


Despite the weather we had a good session with Key Stage 4 this morning. We moved onto supermarket fishing using chick peas, black eyed beans and corn all fished on different methods from bolt rigs, helicopters, standard float and lift. 3 nice carp caught and 1 lost. Well done boys

May 2015 - Productive Morning for Key Stage 4


Full house with 7 anglers for a productive morning with Stage 4 students this morning. All are making great progress and have got to grips with the basics of waggler fishing, congratulations to Jordan for landing his first Carp at just over 12lb. Time for a new challenge next week.

May 2015 - Tricky Afternoon For Key Stage 3


Tricky afternoon with Keys Stage 3 students Jack & Harry. Bream and tench were feeding heavily on their respective swims turning over the lake bed in their hunt for the pellet, corn and groundbait on offer. This led to many false bites and hookbaits getting quickly covered in silt. But they persevered, honing their skills in identifying line bites and pick ups and managed to catch a fair few. April 2015 - Saturday afrernoon Lads N Dads session


"It was indeed our one of the finest day in UK" well compliments dont come much better than that, but sums up what was a thouroughly enjoyable afternoon with the Lal family. Constant smiles, conversation and laughing, its what learning to fish is all about and with good sized Tench and Bream gracing the bank it really was a great session.

April 2015 - KS3 using lift method in the sAfternoon spent with Harry and Jack both using the lift method to hunt down thunshine


Afternoon spent with Harry and Jack both using the lift method to hunt down the fish which had moved on the wind to the bottom end of the lake. Harry was in the carp whilst in the next swim Jack was catching the Tench and Bream. Lift method in the sun, spring is here!

April 2015 - KS4 Progressing Well


Morning session with our Key stage 4 group, always pleasing to see the boys arriving early and keen to crack on. They soon had their rods set up, a mixture of Wagglers and Lift method. Plenty of fish falling to the Waggler, with the boys on the lift struggling to find feeding fish at the top end of the lake. Still plenty of fish caught and as usual a good time for all

April 2015 - Key Stage 3 & 4 start their level 2 CAST courses


Well, after a long break we were back on the banks again with our Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4 students. Both groups are now working towards their Level 2 Cast Certificates and there is plenty for us to cover. With so much to do , we set up 3 seperate classes per session with the boys rotating between each one. April 2015 - First Lesson with Kundan


Lovely to meet Kundan today on a short 2 hour session Westbrook Mere. He finally got to achieve his childhood ambition and have a go at coarse fishing. Today we concentrated on waggler fishing with maggot and squats, so lots to get to grips with in a short space of time but he soon picked up all the essentials such as shotting, knots, casting, plumbing and bait application.
