March 2015 - Fishing in the sun again!
FInally a rain free day on the rods! Nice to have a bit of sun on our faces although the temperatures were still quite fresh. For our new KS4 students Jordon and Max, we started off in the classroom making up rigs for the whip rods and for KS3 we looked into rod licences, fishing seasons and bankside safety. It was great to get out of the classroom and feel the sun on our faces for a change, water temperatures were still low so not the best day for bites but perseverence paid off and we managed to persuade Carp, Roach, Perch, Tench and Bream to grace the nets. Special note to Harley who kept going despite his swim only producing finiky bites that were hard to convert to fish on the bank. But right at the end of the sesson he hooked into a 16lb Common that didnt want to give in and he managed to land it just after the session time was up. Next week we will mix things up a bit with 11m poles...looking forward to it!
