April 2015 - Key Stage 3 & 4 start their level 2 CAST courses

Well, after a long break we were back on the banks again with our Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4 students. Both groups are now working towards their Level 2 Cast Certificates and there is plenty for us to cover. With so much to do , we set up 3 seperate classes per session with the boys rotating between each one. Paul ran the classroom session which put arithmatic skills to good use as we converted float markings into required total shot weight and then worked out different shotting patterns to meet the weights required. Out on the bank Tony & Dave took turns in running the casting accuracy session with the guys casting towards markers using both overhead and side cast teachniques. Third session which was again split between Tony & Dave was where the fishing was happening armed with waggler rods. Give each student only had an hours actual fishing they again produced impressive results with bream, Tench & Carp
