April 2013 - Spring returns and so do the bends in the rods!


 A new term start with Chessbrook, this term sees the course being expanded to other local schools and we welcomed Barry to the fold from Westfield. Spring has finally arrived and with mentor support from Connor, Barry was soon amongst the fish breaking a number of personal bests along the way, we even saw the return appearance of the rare Fancy Tail Crosses, a truly stunning and unusual fish, which can be seen below being held by WAC Coach Pete....

Fantastic Donation of £3,750 For Watford Angling Coaches


 Watford Angling Coaches are delighted to have been awarded with a donation of £3,750 from a Social Enterprise Charity. The funds are going towards new coaching equipment and enhancements to our classroom and facilities at our main location in Watford. Feb 2013 - Still catching!


February proved to be another bitter one on the banks but our students still continue to fish on through and have banked a few notable captures from winter tench through to the first pike for new student, Harry.   Inside the warmth of theclassroom, we have been working on C&G modules ranging from Session planning through to making their own spinning lures.  Well done to all for pushing on throughout the cold conditions, spring is just round the corner....hopefully!!!...

Jan 2013 - Just rewards for braving the weather!


 Jan 2013 and the coaching sessions are back on, blowing away the cobwebs of the winter break. Just rewards for turning up in dropping temperatures and iced over waters, some cracking specimens have been banked including a brace of tench, which was quite a turn up for the books! well done all.

December 2012 - WAC Launches Coaching Programme with the Professional Anglers Association


WAC were delighted to launch our Lifelines Angling Course at the PAA open day on 16th December.   Lifelines was written by WAC for the PAA for their coaches to use under a simple licence format. The course is designed to use Angling as a tool to deliver Life & Transferable skills and comes with support services both through the PAA and WAC to give coaches access to a proven programme deliverable over 4 modules in a calendar...

December 2012 - Winter Term Update


 As the Chrsitmas break draws closer it means that our Winter term is almost half way through. This term the guys have been concentrating on predator fishing and whilst we have been able to get out and about on Lakes, rivers & the canal, our classroom facility is also being put to good use! November 2012 - Congratulations Peter Cardell!


 Our congratulations to Peter Cardell who successfully passed his Level 1 coaching exam this month. Peter was one of our first ever students and took the challenge on of joining us as a coaching assistant in a mentoring programme for Level 1 coaching qualification. He met the challenge admirably and the accreditation he has now gained is a just reward for his efforts. Well done & welcome on board Pete!

October 2012 - Caleb fights back to share the honours!


 The final week of the Autumn term saw Caleb fight back after losing the title of Captor of Largest Chessbrook fish, congratulations to him for now sharing the title with Kelsi after he landed this common carp at 24lb 02oz! Looking forward to our winter term which will see us working on more technical aspects of carp fishing with rig and bait making together with the start of the hunt for Perch and Pike.

October 2012 - Records broken on the Chessbrook Course


 For the 2nd week in a row, the day belonged to Kelsi on the Chessbrook Course.  With only his second ever carp he raised the bar of the biggest Chessbrook fish by 2oz with this 24lb 02oz Mirror Carp that just didnt want to give up to the net.  well done sir!
