November 2013 - Brace of Carp

 Broke the seals on our new Daiwa Coaching kit today and really put them through their paces. The spinning was to prove unsuccessful as the weather closed in and we had to break for the cover of the classroom to escape the hail and lightning. The passing of the storm was marked with two screaming delkims resulting in a brace of a 17lb Common for Alex and a 15lb Mirror for George (his first Carp).

November 2013 - Lifelines Challenge Shield

 Great day at the Lake today with the return of the Lifelines Challenge Shield. As usual the lads set all the rules and fished a points match based on the species caught. All the guys caught a good number of fish including Mickey who couldn't make the start of the match., but even the 10lb carp caught by Alex was not enough to secure victory. Well done to George for winning in his first ever fishing...

 Returned to the smoke with Thames 21 to deliver an Angling Taster Session at Beckton Lakes. Weather was unusually overcast which reduced the numbers in attendance, but good fish to be caught and fun to be had by all.

July 2013 - End of Term Competition - Lifelines

 2 hour match to conclude the Term. Rules designed by the lads who agreed a points match based on different species with bonus points for correctly identifying and unhooking. Really close run competition. Congratulations to Samuel Spires (Centre, 1st place 156 points), Barrie-John Harp (Right, 2nd 153 points) and Charlie Croft (Left, 3rd 136 points).
