July 2014 - Fish Bonanza!!
Busy day down the lake today, setting the rules for for next weeks end of term competition, then working on calculating shotting patterns, then making hair rigs...and that was just the classroom session!! With two hours left we went and wet some lines, putting the hair rigs to use, armed with corn, pellet and luncheon meat.... Those two hours were even busier, with the boys netting large tench, bream and two carp! But for Barrie, 2 hours wasn't enough as right at the end he struck into a large carp which on the light feeder gear led him a merry dance for 40 minutes...10 minutes in and the bus was outside, fortunately a patient bus driver who held on until the fight was over! Biggest fish of the day and a personal best for Barrie at just over 22lb. Result!
