January 2014 - Apsley Lock Fish Rescue

Schools are back and the Chessbrook Students continue with their work on City & Guilds Qualification for Environmental Awareness. Thanks to the Canals & Rivers Trust, they took part in the Fish Rescue at Apsley Locks. All got involved in taking measurements and weights for the Fish record, Scale sampling, assisting with tutorials to local Primary school Students and even had a brush with fame, being interviewed by Local Press and Radio Stations (photo below). All in all a great session which provides valuable evidence for their course. Special Thanks to C&RT, in particular Dick Pilkington and Becca Dent.
