August 2015 - Final National Fishing Month Event of 2015

Well our last National Fishing Month for this year was held on Monday 31st August. The weather at the start was awful as the rain constantly bucketed down, but our Coaches, Tony, Dave Roger, Alan and Del braved the conditions and held the 30 minute sessions for those new anglers to have a go, by 1pm the rain had finally eased and the coaching stations quickly became fully booked as just over 30 participants were accommodated, plenty of fish caught ranging from Roach through to good specimen Perch plus the lakes larger residents of Bream Tench and Carp up to 15lb! Needless to say there were some alarming bends to be seen as the 4 metre whips took the strain! Back at the registration Desk, Paul ran the Tank Talk sessions introducing the children to Roach and Perch and persuading them to take their first steps into angling with fish handling and species information, plenty of gasps when the larger Perch were taken out that was for sure! Jason managed the booking process for us and also ensured that participants received their certificates, their NFM information booklets and goody bags plus shared out the tackle so generously donated to us by Next Generation Tackle, this included floats, hooks, disgorgers, bait buckets plus rods and reels for those who had banked the larger sized fish. All in all a great event to close off what has been a thoroughly enjoyable NFM for us, in total our team have delivered over 90 hours of coaching sessions, and we look forward to meeting up with these participants on the banks in the future! You can view all the photos of the day in our WACerz Gallery under Events Now its time for a couple of weeks off before the school courses start again!
