August 2015 - National Fishing Month event at Cassiobury Farm & Fishery
1st August saw the first of our 3 National Fishing Month events at the Cassiobury Farm and Fishery Open Days. An early start for us as we set up base camp and winkled out some Roach and Perch for the species information tank. We were all a bit nervous as whilst Carpdell Lake has been the home of WAC since 2011, we were entering into unknown territory as to how well the lake would perform with the expected footfall. We needn't have worried, a 1000 people through the gates, our 30 minute coaching sessions fully booked and every participant managed to catch multiple fish of every species and size. Special thanks to Alan, a Coach from Verulam Angling Club who came to help and my on Jason who worked his socks off as the teams runner, taking books, keeping coaches supplied with made up rods and rigs, and filling out the goody bags with information and tackle items so generously donated by NFM sponsors and the Angling Trades Association. We will be back again on the next 2 open days (15th & 31st August) , armed with more coaches so we can offer more slots. Full information at www.cassioburyfarm.co.uk. A highly recommended day out for the family, loads to see and do....hope to see you there! More photos to see in the events gallery. More photos to see in teh events gallery
